Terms, Conditions & Privacy Policy

These terms explain how you may use this website and how The Captain's Tailor handles information submitted through it.

Terms & Conditions

Using this website

By using this website, you agree to these terms. You may use the site to learn about our custom marine products and services, view project photographs, contact the shop, and request an estimate. Do not misuse the site, attempt to interfere with its operation, submit unlawful or harmful material, or impersonate another person.

Estimate requests

Information submitted through the estimate form helps us understand your boat and requested work. A form submission is a request for us to contact you; it is not an accepted order, guaranteed price, contract, or promise of availability. Project scope, measurements, materials, price, scheduling, payment terms, and other requirements must be confirmed separately. Please provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

Site content and links

Site text, branding, graphics, and original photographs are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws and may not be reproduced or used commercially without permission. Project images illustrate prior work but do not guarantee an identical result. Links to third-party maps, social networks, review platforms, or other services are provided for convenience; those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

Availability and limitation

We aim to keep the website accurate and available, but it is provided on an “as available” basis and may contain errors or experience interruptions. To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Captain's Tailor is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising solely from use of, or inability to use, this informational website. Nothing here limits rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be limited.

Governing law

These website terms are governed by Florida law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute concerning these website terms will be handled in a court with proper jurisdiction in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

Privacy Policy

Information we collect

If you request an estimate, we collect the information you choose to submit: boat details, requested products or services, boat location and storage information, project details, your name, email address, and phone number. Our hosting infrastructure may also process routine request, device, and security information needed to deliver and protect the site.

When Google Analytics is enabled, it may collect usage information such as pages viewed, interactions, approximate location, browser and device characteristics, and an analytics identifier stored in a cookie. We do not send your estimate-form fields or other personally identifying contact information to Google Analytics.

How we use information

  • To respond to you and evaluate, prepare, or follow up on an estimate or project request.
  • To deliver form submissions, operate and secure the website, diagnose technical issues, and prevent abuse.
  • To understand aggregate site usage and improve the customer experience when analytics is enabled.
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations or protect our rights and the safety of others.

Our contact-information commitment

Personal contact information submitted to us is used only to contact you about your inquiry, estimate, or related project. We do not sell or rent it, share it for anyone else's marketing, or add it to an email marketing list. We do not currently operate an email marketing list. If that ever changes, enrollment would require a separate, clear choice.

Service providers and disclosures

Limited information is processed by providers that help us operate the site: Vercel hosts and delivers it; Resend transmits estimate-request emails to the shop; Google Analytics processes non-form usage data only when analytics is enabled; and Mapbox receives technical map requests when its interactive map is loaded. These providers process information for their service functions under their own privacy terms; this is not a sale of your information or a disclosure for their independent marketing.

We may also disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, prevent fraud or security threats, or protect legal rights. If the business is transferred, relevant records may transfer with it subject to this policy and applicable law.

Cookies and analytics choices

Google Analytics is inactive unless the site's production measurement ID is configured. When active, it may use cookies or similar storage. You can limit cookies through your browser settings or use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Disabling storage may affect some site features.

Retention, security, and your choices

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed to respond to requests, manage potential or active projects, maintain business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

You may ask us to correct or delete information you submitted, subject to records we must retain for legal or legitimate business reasons. This website is intended for customers seeking marine services and is not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information may contact us to request its deletion.
